Web Application Developer - 1 positions

Job Description:

AGSI is seeking an Application Developer to be situated in our Head Office in Halton Hills, ON. The application developer will be responsible for designing and implementing intelligent WEB based interfaces that interface with Oracle Spatial.

Qualifications:

There are two main areas of qualification for this position:

Organizational and Interpersonal Skills:
Applicant must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a fast‐paced and dynamic team environment. Applicant must be thorough and have an attention to detail to ensure AGSI’s high quality standards are being met. Application should have excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities.

Technical Skills:

Must have Java/JavaServlet Pages and J2EE application development knowledge/experience,
A Computer Science or related degree from an accredited University,
Proven track record in past work and/or school studies,
Experience in Oracle and J Developer is an asset.
Knowledge in Web Service API Development both using Java and Microsoft .NET is an asset,
Programming experience in VB, C, C++ and C# is also an asset.

Field Researcher - Numerous Positions in different locations across Canada

Job Description:

AGSI is seeking permanent part-time Field Researchers. The Field Researcher will be responsible for the following:

Researching, collecting and confirming mapping data in the Field
Entering the data collected on our web based program Go360
approximately for 20 or so hours a month
Time and mileage is paid
Pay rate is $11.00 per hour
Full training provided to successful candidates

Qualifications:

Have a valid G license with 9 yrs or more experience and a clean abstract
Are highly organized, reliable, and comfortable with info including maps
Must be willing to speak with municipal officials
Have experience with computers as well as high-speed web access
Have a familiarity with their region’s “lay of the land”
Are able to work from home in order to meet deadlines
