GO360™ Hosted Solution for Wardrop Engineering- September 03, 2009
The Problem
Wardrop Engineering required a cost effective, easy to use and quick to implement Web based solution to identify and map Hydro One & Local Distribution Companies (LDC) customers affected by long term load transfer reconciliation.
Wardrop required the ability to view LDC boundaries, customer locations provided by Hydro One and all properties that are touching and adjacent to the LDC boundaries in order to identify customers that are candidates for transferring from one utility to another based on existing infrastructure and assets. The solution must also have a mobile component so updates could be made in the Field.

The Solution
AGSI successfully configured and delivered a Hosted solution based on our core Web service environment called GO360™, which includes Mobile functionality. From determining requirements, designing the configuration and then implementation, AGSI was able to deliver a GO360 production solution within 1 month. Wardrop can now manage information collected in the field and provide critical information back to the LDC's for customer connection reconciliation.
The GO360 Web service application is hosted by AGSI and allows in-house and in-field users to view data within Ontario. AGSI's Geocoding solution assists in Geo-Referencing account information supplied by Hydro One and the LDC's, and then displays this customer account data on a map.
AGSI's Search Engine component provides Wardrop the flexibility to search using different parameters such as Street Address, Municipality Name or GPS Coordinates. Users are able to select a location and view the map and data attribution of the selected customer/meter.
Wardrop in-field users access GO360 in the field to view and can immediately update customer data direct at the source. The GO360 Mobile component has some key features that allow users to update the data displayed within the Portal, and manage meter and supply point information to identify customers to be transferred to Hydro One or the LDC. Once the customers have been updated, the user can "re-draw" the LDC boundary directly on a map through the browser. After the customer information has been collected and recommendations for retaining or transferring the accounts have been made, detailed maps are created and forwarded to Hydro One and the LDC along with the transfer recommendations and LDC boundary changes.
