City of Hamilton Selects AGSI - November 21, 2008
The City of Hamilton, Surveys and Technical Services Department, has selected AGSI to leverage its Advanced Technology solution GO360 to enhance its current PRISM product. PRISM is a drawing management system used to handle surveys, technical plans and documentation.
Mr. Gord McGuire, Manager Surveys & Technical Service for the City of Hamilton said,
"On time, on budget, beyond expectations. This project creates some significant opportunities in the short term for operational efficiencies while aligning with longer term Corporate Information Management strategies."
The key objectives of the enhanced solution provided by AGSI are to:
- Improve functionality,
- Increase performance,
- Enhance user security and administration,
- Add Query and Reporting tools,
- Create a spatially aware document management system, and
- Facilitate user access, management and usability.
PRISM's associated data will be migrated into the corporate database standard (Oracle/Oracle Spatial) thus embracing a spatial data model that builds and retains relationships for future expansion and greater reliability.
Over the longer term the City of Hamilton's goal is to implement AGSI's GO360 solution to configure a comprehensive, web-based document management system that incorporates existing drawings, facilitates integration of utility records, and accommodates a richer suite of departmental documents such as survey plans, notes, sketches, correspondence, and reports.
AGSI's PRISM enhancements, using GO360 advanced technology, will result in a more streamlined process that achieves greater efficiency, improved operations, extended longevity, and realizes greater benefits downstream.
