Ottawa Survey Registry Portal - November 12, 2007

Ottawa Survey Web Portal

AGSI is pleased to announce that Annis, O'Sullivan and Vollebekk Ltd. (AOV) have entered into an agreement with AGSI on behalf of the complete Ottawa surveyor's community to provide a GO360™ Surveyors Portal and hosting service. The GO360 Surveyors Portal will provide a secure environment for searching, viewing, sharing and managing surveys from each participating firm and the City of Ottawa.

The Survey Registry Portal is built upon AGSI's robust GO360 platform utilizing a web service oriented architecture (SOA) requiring no middleware or traditional GIS software to operate. GO360's easy-to-use portal allows AOV and their partners to effectively search, manage and view survey files in a secure environment. AGSI provides the security, tools and hosting infrastructure while the participants retain ownership of all input maps, files and surveys.

Ottawa Survey Registry portal Overview:

The Ottawa Survey Registry portal was designed to replace a bricks and mortar operation, reducing costs and inefficiencies inherent to the traditional process used for searching, copying, and distributing surveys. The GO360 solution ensures the Surveyor's files are physically secured in the following three ways: Live Version, Local Backup, and Remote Storage. Secured registered users can quickly navigate to an area of interest using AGSI's powerful GO360 Search Engine and insert a Survey file directly on the map display. Survey files are represented by map symbols and can be any type of electronic file such as a PDF, Image, CADD file, etc. Users can, just as easily, select a survey point for viewing and/or downloading a file. An audit trail is provided for all posted files and surveys by tracking both the file creator and date of deposit.

In Summary:

AGSI's GO360 Survey Registry Portal is the only fully integrated solution available today that provides a cost effective solution while assisting surveyors in: Searching, Accessing, Securing, Protecting, and Managing their large volume of survey files/plans. "This managed web based solution has the potential to simplify and streamline both the collection and indexing of thousands of survey plans annually allowing for a low-cost collaborative surveyors portal," said Stephen Perkins, Senior Project Photogrametrist, City of Ottawa.
